Wist-Je-Dat-Woensdag: Van blokhut naar topclub (deel 3/3)

Ondanks de enorme gezelligheid en het vermaak tot diep in de nacht werd het
toch langzaamaan duidelijk dat het niet meer voldeed aan de verwachtingen die
bij een van de grootste hockeyclubs van Nederland horen.
Wat eraan vooraf ging…
Het houten clubhuis werd ooit gebouwd voor 400 leden met de
verwachte doorgroei naar zeshonderd tot zevenhonderd leden. In de beginjaren
2000 bestond Pinoké uit 2.200 leden, dus het clubhuis werd simpelweg te klein.
Wat er ook meespeelde was dat de brandweer vaak langskwam
vanwege de onveilige situatie in verband met de houten opbouw. "Het toppunt was
eigenlijk dat we jeugdleden moesten weigeren bij hun eigen A- en B-feest. Toen
drong het door dat er iets moest gebeuren aan het clubhuis”, aldus toenmalig
Pinoké-voorzitter Wouter van Balen tegen SportNowHowXL.nl.
In 2005 werd er een enquête gehouden onder de Pinoké-leden
en daaruit bleek dat het clubhuis gezellig was, maar ook te klein en te vies.
Bovendien was de fundering inmiddels zo slecht dat behoud van het oude clubhuis
onverantwoord zou zijn. Van Balen vatte de uitkomst van de enquête als volgt
samen: "Als er een nieuw clubhuis moest komen, dan wel met de gezelligheid,
warmte en sfeer van het oude clubhuis plus dat het groter en multifunctioneler
en even uniek moet zijn.”
In 2009 werd dan ook aangekondigd dat we een nieuw clubhuis
zouden bouwen, na tijdverlies door gedoe met een eerdere aannemer. Conform de
enquête moest het clubhuis onze ruim 2.000 leden helpen aan goede kleedkamers,
meer ruimte, meer voorzieningen en minder stank.
Afscheid van het oude clubhuis
Uiteraard werd er toepasselijk afscheid genomen van het oude
clubhuis. Zo organiseerden onder meer de Zilverlingen een laatste
afscheid van ons houten chalet. Ook getuigd onderstaande tegel van de pijn
die het afscheid veroorzaakte na 39 jaar trouwe dienst.
Bouw van het nieuwe clubhuis
Het nieuwe clubhuis moest een vertegenwoordiging worden van
de ambitie van Pinoké. Daarnaast werd er ruimte
geboden voor activiteiten naast de reguliere clubhuisfuncties, zoals
naschoolse opvang, huiswerkbegeleiding, een fysiotherapiepraktijk en een
fitnessruimte.
De architect van het clubhuis was Pinoké-lid en oud-Heren 1
coach Maarten Jansen van bureau OTTO. De bouw kostte ruim €2 miljoen en werd
gefinancierd via toenmalig jeugdsponsor ABN AMRO, met behulp van subsidie door
de Gemeente Amsterdam en hulp van vele Pinoké-leden.
In de tweede helft van 2009 werd begonnen met de bouw. Zoals
wel vaker met dit soort bouwprojecten moesten we rekening houden met een grote
lijst aan onvoorziene uitdagingen. "De kuil waarin gebouwd werd lag acht meter
twintig onder NAP en begon in te zakken; tevens ontstonden er wellen, dit zijn
waterbronnen met grondwater. Er is een gasleiding gesprongen, door de hevige
vorst werd de bouw stilgelegd, we hebben een overstroming gehad, de
graafmachine heeft de elektriciteitskabel doorgesneden, en zo kan ik nog even
doorgaan,” aldus Van Balen.
Al met al werd het nieuwe clubhuis tijdig opgeleverd. Op 4
december werd het hoogste punt in de nieuwbouw bereikt en in juli 2010 was de
oplevering. Op 2 oktober volgde de officiële opening van het nieuwe clubhuis.
Hierin werd veel donker hout verwerkt om zo het oude chalet te laten
voortleven.
